The French company has created a car that is closer to Formula 1 than a road sports car.

Only then will we be able to think about purchasing the newest gemstone that is about to leave the doors of the Molsheim factory. Bugatti already has the first Bolide models ready. Never before has a car from a French company looked so much like an F1.

The Bugatti Bolide is the embodiment of a concept. When this concept was announced four years ago, many of us doubted that the end result would be the same. We were wrong, because although the Bugatti was slightly less powerful than the original concept, which had 1,826 horsepower, it was a masterpiece in every sense, so much so that after testing carried out on the racetrack, the company claims that the model offers an experience comparable to a Formula car 1, at least in terms of acceleration out of corners.

Numbers that will blow your mind. The Bolide excels in almost all technical areas of the design. We’re looking at a 1,578-horsepower sports car based on an 8.0-liter W-16 four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive (like the Chiron), although, and this is important, it’s much lighter with its 3,000-pound engine. weight, which brings it closer to Formula 1. Additionally, the model includes a carbon monocoque chassis developed jointly with Dallara, and the body, equipped with spoilers and aerodynamic profiles, provides three tons of downforce, allowing the Bolide to achieve a lateral force of 2.5 g (again the same, with values ​​comparable to F1).

There aren’t enough hints. Literally, Bugatti went too far with some of the car’s features. Its top speed is 380 km/h, slightly less than the Chirón, but it has no rivals of its type on the track thanks to an exclusive carbon fiber system that provides braking power similar to a single-seater, despite its significant weight. . elderly. Surprisingly, yes, but apparently there are no tracks with a minimum distance (two kilometers in a straight line) where you can enjoy this premium grip.

Beautiful on the outside, but a little uncomfortable on the inside. Being a car originally designed for track use, this driving gem isn’t particularly comfortable. The interior is very neat, with leather and carbon fiber, but it is not designed for long trips. For example, the driver’s heels are slightly raised, similar to drivers in race car cockpits, while the passenger is leaned forward to improve weight distribution.

Only for the chosen ones. Priced at around four million dollars and limited to just 40 units, the Bolide is simply a dream for the vast majority of mortals. Not only this. Despite their potential on the track, many of these supercars are likely to end up in exclusive private collections. It would be a shame if, after all these numbers, they still failed to release the real beast inside them.
