Cameron Norrie is doing his best to finish the season in the best possible way. For now, the Briton will be able to see his first final of the year this Friday at the Moselle Open.

The Briton made it to the semi-finals of the ATP 250 tournament in Metz, defeating Ziza Bergs in a controversial match 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-1 in two hours and eight minutes.

In an unprecedented fight on the Lexus ATP Head2Head #57 in the PIF ATP rankings scored his 20th win of the season (20-17), in a week in which he also knocked out Roberto Carballes Baena (first round) and Luca Van Assche (second round) as well in three sets.

Norrie reached the semi-finals of an ATP Tour indoor hard-court event for the first time in his career, and he has reached that far in a tournament a total of 25 times (his record is 14-10 in this match).

He will now seek his first final in 2024 against local favorite Corentin Moutet, who did not need to take the court to reach the semi-finals. And the loss of first seed Andrei Rublev allowed him to take the lead.

Meanwhile in the French bout, Benjamin Bonzi continued his stellar run by beating Quentin Halis 6-3 to 7-6(1). The qualifier, who had not dropped a set all week, had won 19 of his previous 20 matches across all categories.

The 28-year-old, who defeated world number seven Casper Ruud in the second round for the biggest win of his career, is in his third home ATP Tour semi-final. After improving to 2-0 in the Lexus ATP Head2Head Series with Halis, Bonzi will face #NextGenATP star Alex Mickelsen for a place in the final, who defeated Yunchaokete Bu 6-7 (6), 6-2 and 6-2. in two hours. 22 minutes of play.
