The City Council of Candelaria formalizes the municipality’s compliance with the Strategy for Health Promotion and Prevention in the National Health System. A strong step in the council’s commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of the entire population, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups.
Candelaria Mayor Marie Brito emphasized the importance of this addition: “This is another example of our commitment to the health of our neighbors. With this strategy, we will work in a coordinated manner with all administrations and social agents to create a healthy environment and lifestyle, prevent diseases and improve the quality of life for everyone.”
For her part, Health Advisor Olivia Perez wanted to detail the goals of the strategy: “We are talking about action in various areas such as education, health, work and local areas. “We will promote healthy eating, physical activity, smoking and alcohol prevention, as well as mental health and other aspects.”
The adoption of the Health Promotion and Prevention Strategy is an important step for the Municipality of Candelaria. Commitment to the present and future of its population, focusing on health as the fundamental basis of individual and collective development.
