Car sales in the Murcia region grew by 10.8% last year

On the other hand, 24,543 passenger cars were registered for leasing in September, down 15.6% year on year, and in the nine months to 2024, registrations using this method increased by 12.4%, to 249,234 units.

Similarly, LCV registrations reached 12,829 units in September, representing an increase of 15.9% compared to the same month last year, while 122,132 units were sold in the first three quarters of 2024, an increase of 16 .6% more than last year. same period 2023.

By type, derivatives, vans and pickups grew 26.7% year-on-year in the ninth month of 2024 to 7,015 units and 17.8% in year-over-year totals, with 63,849 vehicles.

Meanwhile, vans and light-duty trucks reached 5,814 registrations in September, up 5.1% year-on-year, while sales will reach 58,283 in 2024, up 15.3%.

Average CO2 emissions of passenger cars sold in September remain at 112.8 grams of CO2 per kilometer driven, 3.4% lower than the average emissions of new passenger cars sold in the same month in 2023. The total annual average is 117.3 grams. CO2 per kilometer traveled, which is 0.8% lower.

Gasoline and diesel fall

Registrations of petrol and diesel passenger cars and SUVs and plug-in hybrids fell in September, while sales of hybrid (HEV) and petrol and battery electric vehicles rose in September, according to the associations.

In this sense, the market for electrified passenger cars, which has slowed down, stands out for its growth in previous months. In September, sales rose 20% to 10,392 units, representing 14.2% of the market for the month.

Petrol car registrations also fell, with 23,484 units sold, down 10.7% year-on-year, with a market share of 32.1%, remaining the second engine in September. At the end of the year, its registrations fell by 4.2%, to 289,049 units.

On the other hand, the diesel engine, the third engine on the Spanish market in September this year, also fell by 24.7% to 6,457 registered units and its market share remained at 8.8%. A total of 79,941 vehicles of this type were registered, which is 18.7% less.

Registrations of gas vehicles soared 70.5% year-on-year to 2,906 units, achieving a market share of 4%, while they managed to sell 23,609 units in 2024, up 37.1% year-on-year. -year.

Finally, association data shows that in September, registrations of commercial vehicles, buses and minibuses increased by 29.3% to a total of 3,020 units, while in the cumulative year they reached 26,254 units, an increase of 13.9% last year. – per year.

The commercial vehicle type registered a 31.1% year-on-year growth in September (2,233 units) and registration growth stood at 12% in the nine months to date (22,720 units).

In turn, buses and minibuses with 787 sales in the ninth month of the year increased by 24.3%, and in total – by 28%, to 3,534 units.
