chatbot that will help you get to the final boss of video games once and for all

This technology is capable of capturing and analyzing what is happening on the screen so that we can ask questions and progress in all types of video game scenarios.

In the 80s, some games were nearly impossible to beat, and the help we received was limited to maps (and BYE!) published in magazines like Micromanía.

Times have changed a lot, and you can now find help on both forums and websites, and especially in YouTube videos that explain much more clearly how to beat a phase or finish off that last enemy that seems invincible.

There is a third way that seems to be becoming fashionable lately: as for artificial intelligence. We saw this two weeks ago at the presentation of Microsoft’s Copilot+ computers, where one of the demos showed how the assistant could help us. learn to play minecraft.

Now NVIDIA is looking to take things a step further with Project G-Assist, a technology that uses artificial intelligence to help us advance in all types of video games.

This assistant, as Microsoft has already shown, is capable of take a screenshot and analyze what’s on it and then provide answers (text or voice) to our questions about it. It is based on vision and language models, which are then used by a trained model to try to help us solve all types of situations in games.

To show off its strengths, NVIDIA wanted to show off its capabilities in ARK: Survival Ascended. When calling an assistant, you could ask him how to avoid one of the dinosaurs appearing on the screen, how to kill one of the animals that threaten us, or give recommendations based on how the player is playing. This way you can suggest ways to level up or get new items.

This assistant is also interesting in other aspects of the gameplay and, for example, is able to recommend a graphical configuration that allows us to play more smoothly or optimize performance per watt. So you can supply a lower voltage to the GPU so it doesn’t consume as much and still maintain a certain level of FPS, which is interesting if we play on laptops.

The tool, which is currently a tech demo, is part of the exclusive graphics capabilities of the NVIDIA RTX family, but it definitely points to a future where getting to the final boss won’t be so difficult… if that’s what it ends up being We turned to an assistant for help.
