The colorectal cancer research project carried out by the Jesús Uzón Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CCMI) Foundation has been selected as a “Good Communication Practice” by the Government of Extremadura and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
This project aims to develop mobile applications to improve health literacy and encourage citizen participation in screening programs, given their effectiveness in reducing related mortality, in collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer of Cáceres.
A multidisciplinary research team consisting of engineers, clinical researchers, imaging specialists and public relations managers actively participated in the project and in dissemination tasks through scientific forums, publications, digital literacy panels, illustrative videos and mobile applications to make an innovative project known to the target population aged 50 to 69 years.
This Good Communication Practice designation is due to the fact that the company not only focused on developing applications displayed on terminals installed in SES pilot medical centers, but also introduced a service that allows patients to make an appointment with a doctor. screening test.
