I was able to take this photo west of Comet C/2023 A3 (Zuchinshan-ATLAS) yesterday after sunset between the clouds in San Bartomeu del Grau (Osona).
Sant Bartomeu del Grau is an elevated town with great views, but the clouds made it difficult to see this long-tailed comet.
This comet reached its maximum brightness of magnitude 2 this October, making it likely to be visible to the naked eye from around the world. The closest approach to Earth occurred on October 12.
C/2023 A3 (Tsutingshan-ATLAS) is an Oort Cloud comet discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory on January 9, 2023 and independently discovered by South Africa on February 22, 2023 by the ATLAS telescope (Tsutingshan-ATLAS of Last Alert of Terrestrial). Asteroid impact).
Comet C/2023 A3 (Tzuchinshan-ATLAS), which is not approaching the giant planets of the Solar System, has a retrograde orbit with an inclination of 139°.
