Netanyahu vows to retaliate against Iran: “They made a big mistake tonight and they will pay the price for it”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released a video statement in which he pledged to retaliate for the ballistic missile bombing. “Iran made a big mistake tonight and will pay a price for it,” the president said. “The Iranian regime does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and to retaliate against our enemies.”
Netanyahu described the attack as “unsuccessful”, attributing it largely to “Israel’s air defense system, the most advanced in the world.” And he has called on “the forces of light in the world” to unite against Tehran. “They should support Israel. “The choice between tyranny and freedom, between blessing and curse,” he stressed, “has never been so clear.”
Netanyahu also offered some words of solidarity to the families of six people killed during the shooting in Tel Aviv, which Israeli police are investigating as terrorism. “Like the missile attack, this attack too has a murderous and deliberate hand behind it. “This comes from Tehran,” the Israeli president said, thus placing responsibility squarely on Tehran.
Israel Police detailed that the shooting occurred around 7:00 pm (local time) and involved two “terrorists”, who were later “neutralized” by agents in the area. Tel Aviv District Police Commander Haim Sergoff said the two attackers boarded the train, where they fired several shots. Later, they got out of the car and continued shooting on the road. (agencies)
