Elizabeth Olsen returns to Marvel for the first time since the death of her Doctor Strange 2

Doctor Strange 2 Star Elizabeth Olsen returned to the MCU following her character’s untimely death in Marvel’s 2022 sequel.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured one of the most shocking moments in MCU history as Olsen’s Scarlet Witch seemingly met her tragic end by burying herself under Wundagore Mountain along with the Darkhold.

And while Olsen teased last year that she wasn’t quite done with her time in the MCU, the timing of her return remained a mystery for the better part of two years.

Elizabeth Olsen returns to the MCU

Elizabeth Olsen appeared in the Marvel Studios animated film. What if…? when she played the multiverse version of Scarlet Witch in the Disney+ animated series.

In episode 8 What if…? In Season 2, Wanda Maximoff pulls Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter out of her reality while Black Widow tries to stop her from being captured.

In this episode, entitled “What If… Avengers Assembled in 1602?”, Elizabeth Olsen’s character brings Captain Carter into her reality to ask her to help stop the rifts tearing apart the Multiverse, one of which has sucked Queen Hela into the sky. .

While Wanda’s role in Episode 8 doesn’t give her much screen time, she puts her powers on full display as she does everything she can to stop a multiverse rift from tearing the 1602 universe to pieces.

This episode marks Olsen’s first appearance in the MCU since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhich ended with Scarlet Witch going out of the picture to save her universe from destruction.

When will Scarlet Witch return to the MCU again?

In Phase 4 and Phase 5, Wanda Maximoff continued her reign as one of the most popular characters in the MCU, especially after WandaVision led Olsen to a nomination for the first-ever MCU Emmy Award in the acting category.

But after his longtime hero appeared to be killed in Doctor Strange 2her next appearance in the MCU was in doubt.

Plenty of new entrants in Phase 5 and Phase 6 have a chance to bring Olsen back into the fray, and the best of those options would likely be a reunion with Kathryn Hahn in Agatha: The Darkhold Diaries.

And since her character continues to be a key figure in the MCU world and is popular among fans, many expect her return to be on the horizon.
