Everything for Guinean children… Sergio Heredia

It’s been nine years since a source close to Marcus Slaughter looked me in the eye and said:

– It’s true that Marcus paid 35 thousand euros for this Guinean passport. But, of course, he did not know that the passport was fake. Moreover, those who obtained it for him assured him that the money (and the 30,000 euros that Andy Panko also paid for the new passport) would be reinvested in schools in Equatorial Guinea, in training sports children.

This last detail explains everything: it doesn’t matter whether the passport is fake or not (and we are talking about an unsuccessful document with 45 and 46 missing pages; and what is even more absurd: Slaughter’s and Panko’s passports were issued with the same number). If Slaughter helped the Guinean children in this way, he must have found spiritual peace and a comforting argument.

And everyone won: it was win-win . Madrid won the Cup and League. Slaughter won fame, recognition and a good pinch (salary and additional payments to titles). Basketball in Spain enjoys talented players. Prestigious Equatoguinean basketball could be bolstered by a player of the highest caliber. And the Guinean children of the country received manna from heaven, and thus dozens of schools were opened throughout the country, an example of democracy and good work that we have seen since time immemorial.
