Not everyone was completely happy with last week’s Fallout 4 update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series (and PC), as PlayStation users noted that those who received the game with PS Plus Essential or PS Plus Collection did not receive the update at the time As PC users there were serious problems with mods and other problems.
Xbox users, however, looked much happier, but something strange is happening there too. Bethesda has now made clear the big difference in the Xbox version through X. It turns out that even those using the Quality Mode option for the Xbox Series 5 (40 if running at 120Hz).
The reason is that this version is “effectively targeting 4K resolution at 60fps in all modes.” As for what sets it apart from the Xbox Series X’s Performance Mode, Bethesda writes that this mode is “more aggressive in lowering settings to achieve this goal.” However, people don’t seem to see much of a difference based on the comments (although some claim they have problems with the 1440p resolution).
It certainly seems like Bethesda rushed the update to take advantage of the series’ popularity, but the quality mode running at too high a frame rate seems like one of the minor issues, don’t you think?
