Maite Mendes, one of the stars of women’s basketball in Galicia and founder of the CB Arxil club in the 80s, died in Pontevedra. She combined her teaching profession with her passion for basketball, leading the Pontevedra team for 40 years. 24 of them are in LF2. Last year he received the Cidade de Pontevedra Award for his passion for sports.
