On January 17, Samsung Electronics opened seven Galaxy Experience Spaces around the world where visitors can try out the new Galaxy S24 series. As a cold snap hit New York City, Samsung’s news team braved the frigid temperatures to explore the Galaxy Experience Space, located in Herald Square on 34th Street in Manhattan.
Despite the cold, people eagerly lined up to visit the Galaxy Experience Space in New York. Excitement filled the air as they entered the world of possibilities powered by Galaxy’s artificial intelligence. Below are some photos and highlights taken by visitors to the Galaxy Experience Space in New York.
Upon entering the space through a portal-like arch, visitors immediately found themselves in front of a star-shaped digital wall. This installation represented the limitless possibilities of mobile innovation in the age of artificial intelligence. Visitors had the opportunity to interact directly with Galaxy AI, which brought to life the core features of the Galaxy S24 series and showed how artificial intelligence can improve their daily lives. With the help of Samsung employees, guests were able to try out artificial intelligence features such as simultaneous translation and a typing assistant.
“When my mom calls the doctor, she is put off because she only speaks Spanish,” said Yesenia Candia, a Latina Manhattan resident. “It may take some getting used to using the AI features, but I can definitely see my mom using simultaneous translation to schedule doctor visits.”
Once through the Galaxy AI Experience, visitors were taken to an area where they could interact with the latest camera features of the Galaxy S24 series. What first caught their attention was the photo booth, where visitors could practice taking selfies. With just one click, Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Single Take feature lets you capture a variety of images and videos, making multiple shots better. Visitors could save photos and videos to their personal devices by simply opening a QR code, or display their photos on a nearby large screen.
“With Single Take, you can take one photo and it automatically creates different variations of images and videos,” said Samaya Chadha, a visitor from Manhattan, after trying out the Single Take photo booth. “It’s really cute and I can see myself using this feature to post on social media.”
Next to the photo booth there was an interactive photography area. Samsung has partnered with creative studio Sticky Monster Lab to create a photo-worthy art installation that allows visitors to take and edit photos as usual, except this time using AI Edits to remove objects and reflections.
“For a content creator, AI Edit really simplifies the editing process. “I can’t believe the Galaxy S24 series can remove reflections and objects so easily,” said Emily Schon, a marketing specialist and content creator based in New York. “I definitely see myself using the Remove Subject feature a lot, especially when I’m taking photos in public and want to remove people from the background or things that are out of place. Using other apps is a painstaking process, so integrating them into your phone is just crazy.”
In this area, visitors had the opportunity to explore the connectivity features of the Galaxy S24 series. Pairing the Galaxy S24 series with the Galaxy Book4 series allowed users to easily access recently viewed web pages from their smartphones on the larger PC screen. The seamless transition also allowed users to answer text messages and phone calls on the Galaxy Book4 series devices. In this area, visitors could also try Quick Share, Galaxy’s file-sharing feature, and Google Meet, Google’s video conferencing service.
In the New Way gaming zone, visitors were able to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience provided by the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and Vision Booster feature, which automatically adjusts color and brightness. The Galaxy Experience Space in New York also hosted a mobile gaming competition where Galaxy fans could enter to win a Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Throughout January and February, the Galaxy Experience Space in New York City will host a variety of events, including workshops for content creators and a live podcast recording from Tribe Gaming. On the day of Samsung Newsroom’s visit, an exciting K-Pop Meet and Greet took place. Here, visitors interacted with their favorite K-Pop idols while practicing the latest Galaxy innovations.
The Galaxy S24 series has wowed visitors, from novices to tech experts, with its easy-to-use AI capabilities. Miguel Martin, a Galaxy fan from the Bronx and information technology professional, shared his excitement: “I enjoyed exploring and learning more about Galaxy’s artificial intelligence. I used the touch screen to learn about the Galaxy AI features: the Mark for Search and Simultaneous Translation features are crazy.” He added: “It’s amazing that Write Assistant can support informal dialogue. I’m from another country and my family and friends speak Spanish. “A lot of them like to communicate in English, so I think this will be a great way to learn spoken English.”
Finder Kit has become one of the standout features for Galaxy fans since the launch of the Galaxy S24 series. This innovative feature allows users to draw a circle with their fingers on any image, giving them immediate access to Google’s search engine without having to switch to another application. Once users complete their search, a simple swipe will return them to the original screen.
