Haley calls Trump’s NATO comments ‘scary’

(CNN) — Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley called former President Donald Trump’s comments about NATO “chilling.” And the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin will be strengthened.

He said, “When you heard Donald Trump say in South Carolina a week ago that he would encourage Putin to attack our allies if they weren’t doing their job, it was shocking because at the time he “All it did was to empower Putin.” ABC program this week.
The comments came after the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died in prison on Friday.

“What they did at that time was take the side of a guy who kills his political opponents. They took the side of a thug who captures American journalists and holds them hostage, and they took the side of the guy who kills Russians. Wanted to make it clear to the people: Don’t do this, challenge me in the next elections otherwise the same will happen to you.

Haley also addressed the news that the former president is endorsing his daughter-in-law Lara Trump to lead the Republican National Committee. He said Trump was going to use the committee as another way to pay for his legal expenses.

Haley said, “What concerns me is that the Republican National Committee will now be the piggy bank for Trump’s legal expenses. The committee is almost bankrupt. He is now looking for other ways to pay his legal fees.” “

He also said that this withdrawal of funds would limit the committee’s ability to channel resources to recover the Senate. And expand its razor-thin majority in the House.

He said, “The Republican National Committee may fail to win the House of Representatives and the Senate or may not have the resources to win other elections if they are only thinking about how they will pay their court fees.”

Save America PAC and Make America Great Again PAC spent more than $50 million in taxpayer money last year, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Despite her harsh criticism of the former president, Haley dodged a question about whether she would ultimately support Trump in the general election.

“I’m speaking out against him because I don’t think he should be the right person, I don’t think he should be the right person at the right time. I don’t think he should be president. The last thing on my mind is that I Who am I going to support? The only thing in my mind is how we will win it,” he said.

Asked if she thought Trump would support her as a candidate, Haley laughed and said, “Do you think he would? I highly doubt it.”
