Israel attacks refugee camps, mosque in Gaza

Jerusalem (EFE).- There have been at least 54 new deaths and more than 100 injured in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, according to data provided on Monday by the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry.

Thus, on the 199th day of Israeli attacks since last October 7, the total number of deaths reached 34,151 and the number of injured 77,084.

According to the Palestinian agency Wafa, Israeli forces continue to conduct air and artillery attacks on refugee camps, homes and mosques throughout the Palestinian enclave where the civilian population takes refuge.

According to the Palestinian Agency, another camp in this area of the Strip, Nusrat, also recorded Israeli bombardment, killing and injuring civilians, including children.

In Khan Yunis, south of the enclave, despite the withdrawal of Israeli troops on 8 April, local sources confirmed to Wafa that Israeli shelling was not stopping.

Just this Sunday, civil protection teams recovered at least 60 bodies buried in a mass grave at Nasser Hospital in this southern city, which had at times been surrounded by Jewish soldiers.

In addition, medical sources in the Strip reported that this Sunday the number of victims of Israeli attacks on two houses in Rafah, a city bordering Egypt and the last refuge for Gazans, has increased to 26, including 16 children and 6 women.

Two Palestinian minors arrested for attack in Jerusalem

In Jerusalem, at least three people were slightly injured this Monday in a car accident and a failed shooting attempt, reportedly carried out by two 17-year-old Palestinians, near the Jerusalem central bus station.

A few hours later, police reported the arrest of two 17-year-old Palestinians as suspects from Hebron, a city in the south of the occupied West Bank, following an “extensive search” conducted by border agents and a helicopter.

“Following their arrest, both were taken in for questioning,” the police force detailed in a statement, adding that they hid in a closed business after the attack.

Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom reported that its teams assisted three injured people, who had minor head and facial injuries, and two of them were taken to Shaare Tzedek hospital, although they would be discharged today.

Images from surveillance cameras in the area show the attempted attack and shooting. In the video, a car is seen speeding towards a group of people and then running over them.

In Jerusalem, the eastern part of which is militarily occupied by Israel, violent attacks occur regularly, such as attempted stabbings or attacks often carried out by Palestinians against military checkpoints or Israeli security forces.
