Perhaps that is why only the great star of the Brox could be in the middle of “Lead Weddings”, which becomes a war field when criminals take the attendees hostage in the middle of an armed struggle.
But not only the bride and groom Darcy (Jennifer) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) will have to manage to survive, their loved ones will also enter the fight: Robert (Cheech Marin), the father of the bride, for example, will become leader of a mission to save the boyfriend, whom she has never wanted.
“Robert is very rich, but that’s why he wants to control the world and that included his daughter’s life because he preferred her old boyfriend (Lenny Kravitz) and although at first he tries to show his disapproval and take away from the new couple I think that in the end she becomes aware that what she really wants is for her daughter to be happy”, says Marin.
The cast, which includes Jennifer Coolidge, D’Arcy Carden, Steve Coulter and Callie Hernandez, lived during filming in a villa in the Dominican Republic, where they learned to empathize with each other to give life to a family that literally takes the machine guns. to defend.
“We would have dinner together every night, then we would work and be in some kind of swimming pool, fully clothed all day for weeks; that made us a family”, details Callie, who gives life to Jamie Rivera.
Steve Coulter, who plays the groom’s father, Larry, Carol’s husband (Jennifer Coolidge) highlights the dedication of Jennifer Lopez as one of the main elements to unite the cast, but also the authenticity of the characters.
“In the script it said that I should wear a beard, but I didn’t feel that this gave the character realism, I spoke with the director, and after shaving and only having a mustache, I found the character,” he says.
While D’Arcy Carden highlights the bravery of the bride as a hero in a torn dress, who, feeling supported by her family, had the strength to face evil.
“It all comes down to love and family, the film makes you reflect on who is important in your life and how it is so easy to take things for granted, but in a life or death situation you see what is important to you,” he says. carden.
After going through the altar last July, Jennifer López and Ben Affleck have made a home with their respective children: the twins Max and Emme (14), born of the singer’s relationship with Marc Anthony; Violet (17), Seraphine (13) and Samuel (10), Affleck’s children, with Jennifer Garner.
