Jodie Foster was embarrassed by Jessica Chastain’s introduction at the SAG Awards

Jessica Chastain apparently caught Jodie Foster off guard at the 2024 SAG Awards.

When Chastain took the stage Saturday night to present a SAG statuette to a female lead actress in a movie, Tammy Faye’s eyes star honored Foster’s achievement as the category’s first honoree—only Foster seemed to miss everything Chastain said.

“At the very first SAG Awards, the award for Lead Actress in a Motion Picture went to the incredible Jodie Foster,” Chastain said, referencing Foster’s performance in Nellwhich received its first iteration of the category in 1995.

Chastain then looked at Foster as the camera cut to True Detective: Nightland star who seemed to ask the man sitting next to her, “What? What she said?” pointing to Chastain, who continued her introduction.

“I was honored to receive this award two years ago, and tonight, on this 30th anniversary, I am thrilled to welcome the next member of the club,” Chastain continued. “By the way, on the last Wednesday of every month the club holds different events. Laser tag, quest, ax throwing. See you on Wednesday, Jodie!”

Chastain then presented the award. Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone unexpectedly upset by predictable winner Emma Stone.
