John Morcillo, new signing for Albacete Balompié

Alba goes on the attack. John Morcillo Conesa (15 September 1998, Amorebieta-Etxano, Biscay) joins the La Mancha family after signing a two-year contract.

Having played for various youth teams in the Basque Country, such as the lower categories SD Amorebieta or Culture Durango, he attracted the attention of the Athletic Club, which included him in its youth team in 2016.

In the Bilbao reserve team, where he spent two seasons, he played 44 matches, scoring 11 goals. Speed, dominance and skill in front of goal for a player who threw that door down to make room for himself in the first team of Atletico Madrid.

Thus, in September 2020, John Morcillo made his debut in EA Sports LaLiga, a category in which he played 47 games and also won, by participating, the Spanish Super Cup with the Basques in January 2021.

After that, in the winter of 2022, he joined the ranks of Real Valladolid to help Pucelano’s team return to the top category, a goal that the Valladolid team has cemented.

The following season he returned to Athletic as a prelude to his return to Amorebieta last summer as a key player. 39 games and 4 goals for the Basque striker, who showed a high level.

A more than proven CV that will serve Alba well and for which Toce, the sporting director of Albacetista, is very happy. “John is a player of great quality and talent, he has played many games for Athletic in the First Division. “That will be of great benefit to us.”
