This year’s warning coincides with the 2023 release date. The density of the vector mosquitoes peaks in August and September, with activity continuing until late October.
About 20 cases of Japanese encephalitis are registered in the country every year, with the first case being registered between August and September to November. When analyzing the characteristics of patients (91 patients) who contracted Japanese encephalitis over the past five years (2019 to 2023), patients aged 50 years and older accounted for 87.9% (80 patients) of all patients, and by region, they were represented by the Gyeonggi, Seoul, and Gangwon Orders.
