Move forward! Katherine Langford finished her work as Hannah Baker in the series 13 reasons why after the second season and immediately began landing roles in the entertainment industry. From award-winning films to another TV role and more, the actress has made a big name for herself.
The Australian native became a Netflix star when 13RW – based on the novel of the same name Jay Asher – The premiere took place in May 2017. After starring in both the first and second seasons, she left the series, which lasted a total of four seasons.
“Hannah…I love you…and I’m letting you go.” These are the words I was able to say six months ago, and now I can finally share with you my journey of @13reasonswhyyou’ve officially come to the END!” Katherine shared on Instagram in May 2018. “As most of you know, this was my first job and I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to tell Hannah’s story in such detail in season one and be asked to return for another season. 2…We have a lot of exciting things coming up next year and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
Before landing the role in the Netflix original, Katherine almost retired from acting. She said Glamor in July 2020, the role “was a huge turning point” in her life. “I almost left. I think I almost wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t kept going,” she recalled at the time. “I’m very grateful and grateful that everything worked out and young Katherine continued to do her thing.”
In addition to being an actress with a variety of projects in the works, the brunette beauty was also named a spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris in June 2020, noting that the brand’s goal is “all about learning to love yourself, being brave,” be confident” in the statement.
“People my age shouldn’t be afraid to be themselves because that’s what makes us beautiful,” Katherine added. “When you know you are worthy, you live life to the fullest. Having always valued empowerment, I can say that I am very grateful to be part of such an inspiring group of female representatives.”
It’s safe to say she’s killing it. Along with her upcoming films, Katherine has also starred in another Netflix series called Damn, which premiered in July 2020 and fans are hoping it will get a second season.
