LaLiga promised 130 million for cameras in dressing rooms and already knows which teams behaved better… and worse (except Madrid) | Relief

Opening the doors of the club, “undressing” and demonstrating intimate moments that were until recently alien to fans, or simply collaborating with television has a reward. This is the “show league”, which distributes 130 million euros between clubs. AND Sevilla achieved the best result.followed by Atletico Madrid. At the opposite pole is Real Madrid, the red lantern of this classification.

This “show league” is an incentive program launched by La Liga at the request of TV operators. The goal is to improve the broadcasts and the product. Some actions, such as cameras in the locker room or interviews at half-time or in post-match programs on the fieldwere very well received by the public (it also caused some disapproval among some players and coaches). And even UEFA took an interest and used it as an example in their internal forums.

LaLiga created a points system with a maximum of 500 points and after the end of the season created a ranking. If a team finishes with a result of 500, it means that it has completed all the actions requested.

for example, providing content requested by Laliga and broadcasters on club video days (22 points), media days (16), personal tests, in-depth interviews and skills tests (up to 16 additional points), collaboration on a Netflix documentary premiering on 19 July (another 10 points) or on match days (maximum 38 points, plus an additional 10 for access to special moments such as the pre-match speech).

Five teams finished the season with those 500 points: Sevilla, Atletico, Rayo, Osasuna and Athletic.. So why did Sevilla finish first if they had the same result as other teams? The reason is that he was the one who did the most actions during the season and LaLiga considers him to be the one who cooperated the most. Each club received points for the actions taken.but also for those that he could have done, but the operators did not ask him to do so.

Boycott Real Madrid

Everyone cooperated. Well, not everyone. Real Madrid refused and even condemned this new distribution in criminal proceedings.where he lost. Their rivalry with La Liga was constant throughout the season, to the point that the cameramen could not provide the same lighting at the Bernabéu as at other stadiums. They had to do a preview from outside (and even on the set from Barcelona), pressing the Real Madrid TV signal and only having access to it five minutes before. The white club did not even make the minimum that would have given them 175 points and access to the distribution of those 130 million.

TEAMS THAT HAVE COLLABORATED WITH TV MOST

Ahead of Real Madrid, the ranking of those who have collaborated is completed by Getafe and Real Betis. The reluctance of Jose Bordalas and Manuel Pellegrini Allowing cameras into the dressing room or forcing your players to give interviews (before the game or at half-time) is detrimental to them. Despite this, their situation is not even remotely comparable to that of the Madrid team.

The same thing with Barcelona. He was receptive to the operators’ requests, but not as much as might be expected from a club with its financial problems. and to whom any extra money is very good. In general, all clubs fulfilled the requirements and their results are not far from each other. Apart from Madrid, the lowest score is 433 points out of a possible 500.

Where did 130 million come from?

These 130 million are not extra, but are obtained from the funds that La Liga receives from the centralized sale of television rights. (90% goes to the First Division clubs and 10% to the Second Division clubs.) All this money, which goes to the 20 First Division clubs, is divided into three parts: half is distributed equally among all the teams, 25% is given based on the sporting results of the last five seasons, and the remaining 25% is called “social implementation”.

Until the 22-23 season, it only included box office/subscriptions and viewers, and last season an incentive program was added.a third of the money goes to social implementation (from which 130 million). At the end of the season, the percentage of points for each club is calculated relative to the total points scored by all, and weighted based on the ratings of the viewers for distribution.

The consequence of this is that There are no major differences between the clubs that cooperate., but there may be some that relate to the last season if someone resists participation, as in the case of Madrid. Otherwise, it is not the money that will change someone’s accounts, but will help those who are stronger.
