The owner of the franchise could be Michael Jordan, considered by many to be the best basketball player of all time and the symbol of the Chicago Bulls team, for which he played for 13 seasons, international media reported.
According to a Forbes analysis, Jordan would have to pay a whopping $4.6 billion to acquire the Bulls. For the 2022-23 season, the Bulls posted operating income of $115 million, including interest income, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
The Bulls are currently owned by Jerry Reinsdorf, who acquired the basketball franchise in 1981 along with the MLB’s Chicago White Sox. Reinsdorf and Jordan had public arguments over the years, but Reinsdorf called Jordan the greatest player of all time.
Jordan expressed his love for the franchise and his desire to take the team back to the top level. In June 2023, it was announced that Jordan had sold the Charlotte Hornets for $3 billion, making a significant profit. His intention was to run a smart business and reap economic benefits.
It is very likely that we will see a great Illinois legend take over the franchise where he played for many years and where he earned great love and admiration from the fans of this basketball organization.
