The Community of Madrid announced investment 47 million Euro intended for the purchase of vaccines included in the vaccination schedule for all ages. The region’s governing council approved signing of several contracts for the purchase of 1.7 million doseswhich will be carried out in 2025 and 2026 in accordance with the regional vaccination calendar.
Purchasing doses is part of State framework agreement to which the Community of Madrid is a party. The planning of these contracts took into account the population that needs to be immunized, as well as the vaccine supplies still available in the region, in order to optimize distribution and ensure coverage of all age groups. This process will allow us to meet the needs vaccination of children, adults and the elderly
as well as risk groups with previous diseases requiring special protection.The agreement provides purchasing various vaccinesincluding those that protect against multiple diseases in a single dose. Among them is a hexavalent vaccine that provides immunization against six diseases: hepatitis B, diphtheria, acellular pertussis, tetanus, polio and Haemophilus influenzae
. Likewise, vaccines aimed at preventing diphtheria and tetanus with a reduced content of antigens, as well as others for protection against meningococcus, with specific preparations of serogroups A, B, C, Y and W.In addition, the contract includes purchasing bottles for immunization against diseases such as measles, rubella, mumps, chickenpox and hepatitis A and B.. These vaccines will be available to both children and adults, providing comprehensive protection covering all stages of life.
The Community of Madrid emphasizes that vaccination is the most effective preventive measure control and eliminate disease transmissionespecially among healthy populations. However, it is also a fundamental tool for protecting those who, due to previous health conditions, are at risk.
