Mass recall of contaminated oranges in French supermarkets

Among other issues, thousands of farmers are on the streets to protest against a proposal – now withdrawn – to reduce pesticide use by 50% across the EU, according to the French government website. rappel conso, has recently issued a health warning urging the recall from the market of a batch of oranges grown in Tunisia that contained pesticide levels higher than the limits allowed in the European Union.

According to the website Freshplaza, French Supermarket E.Leclerc has begun removing the contaminated oranges from its shelves. This is a Maltese variety of net weighing 1.5 kg which went on sale on 6 February. The French health warning agency also reports data on the affected batch number (18166) as well as the barcode of the mesh concerned.

Apart from the notice, rappel conso has mapped the French cities where contaminated oranges have been distributed. Unlike other situations of this type, not all supermarkets in the country are affected. Thus, fruits with high levels of pesticides have been found in those establishments E.Leclerc

In: Aisne, Ardennes, Aube, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Oise, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Somme, Yonne, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine- Saint-Denis, the valley of the Marne and the Oise valley.

In rappelconso It has not been specified which pesticides were found, although they recommend not eating them and returning them immediately to get your money back. Consumers had until Thursday, February 29 to do so. If this is not possible then it is advisable to destroy them.
