Target decided to completely paralyze the training of its artificial intelligence in applications Facebook And instagram in Europe. This was reported in a brief by the DPC, Ireland’s data protection authority. …
Last week, a Vienna-based privacy advocacy group filed complaints in 11 European countries against Meta, alleging that a planned change to the global tech giant’s privacy policies would allow the “illegal” use of personal data to train “undetermined” types of current and future artificial intelligence technologies.
Complaints filed European Digital Rights Center -also known as Noib (“None of your business”) followed Meta’s recent announcement in which it informed its European users about change to your privacy policy effective June 26.
The group said it discovered that Meta planned to use all public and proprietary user data collected since 2007 for artificial intelligence technology.
Through complaints, the group has asked data protection authorities in 11 European countries to stop Meta’s new privacy policy before it comes into force at the end of June and to investigate it thoroughly.
“We welcome this development but will monitor it closely. Until now, there have been no official changes to Meta’s privacy policy that would make this commitment legally binding,” said Noyb’s founder. Max Schrems.
“The cases we present are ongoing and will require resolution,” he added. Noib has brought several lawsuits against tech giants, often provoking regulatory action.
The group began work in 2018 with the advent of the historic EU General Data Protection Regulation.
