Mets go after Tommy Pham signing, former Red Sox

After revealing the signing of Andrew McCutchen with the Pittsburgh Pirates this Friday, the New York Mets they have already put another outfielder on their radar with a view to bolstering their outfield. According to New York Post columnist Jon Heyman, tommy pham this in the sights of the Metropolitans.
Pham, who is about to turn 35, has hit at least 15 home runs in each of his last two seasons, in which he has played for the Padres, Reds and Red Sox. He continues to have above-average speed and has consistently hit power balls, well above the 80th percentile.
However, he has recorded -24 Above Average Outs since 2019, ranking 142nd out of 147 qualified patrolmen. Additionally, he has a 94 OPS+ since the start of the 2021 season, below the league average (100).
If signed, Pham will likely fill in as Mark Canha’s replacement spot in left field and compete against Darin Ruf in shifts at designated hitter, as a combination with Daniel Vogelbach.
