Buenos Aires (EFE).-The government of After this was confirmed, the charge of corruption was proved against him.

Adorni reported that both pensions, both retirement and widowhood, represent a cost of 21.8 million pesos (about $21,800 at the current official exchange rate).

This allocation is non-contributory under Law 24,018 to former presidents and former vice presidents and is awarded “on an exceptional and exceptional basis as compensation for honor, merit and good performance in office,” Adorni said.

As justified by the spokesperson when announcing the decision taken by the government, Cristina Fernández was “convicted by the Criminal Court of Cassation for being the author of the crime of fraudulent administration, which represents the opposite of honor, competence and good performance “

The Argentine Federal Court of Criminal Cassation, in the second instance, confirmed a sentence of six years in prison and permanent disqualification from holding public office, issued in 2022 by the Federal Oral Court 2.

Crime of fraudulent administration of public works

That judgment held that the crime of fraudulent administration had been committed in the concession of public works in the province of Santa Cruz during the governments of Néstor Kirchner (2003–2007) and Cristina Fernández (2007–2015).

“Retirement for a leader should not exist in Argentina, especially when the person receiving it is convicted of fraud from the highest echelons of power,” Adorni said, adding that those who have seen their hopes vanish at the hands of politics “

The presidential spokesperson made this announcement in the middle of the judicial process, as the former President can still appeal the decision to the Supreme Court, so the sentence against him will not take effect until the final decision is made.

Adorni acknowledged that there is “a certain possibility” that Cristina Fernández will go to court to denounce this fact and added that the former president will be able to continue collecting retirement and pensions according to the contributions he made to the Social Security system, but “no “This addition to the privileges”, in reference to being a former President and the widow of a President.

He also indicated that the Miley government was “not going to allocate funds to anyone who is guilty of corruption and who has tarnished the honor and dignity of Argentina.”
