more gigabytes and more free speed on all fiber and mobile plans

If you’re an O2 customer (like me), you probably know this. Telefonica’s second brand in Spain usually uses August to introduce general improvement of the commercial offer. This summer was no exception and gave us a surprise by including Movistar Plus+ in one of the tariffs.

What we didn’t expect was that just three months later it would give its catalog another boost to respond decisively to the recent improvements announced by Digi. And that’s what happened. Or rather, what will happen this week, starting next Thursday.

On this occasion they will all convergent O2 rates those who will receive an infusion of free gigabytes and/or an increase in fiber speed without increasing the price. Let’s see what these improvements are.

Double the gigabytes and double the speed

Although existing O2 customers will start receiving the notification today, This will be from November 18th.

when the operator improves all its converged tariffs (from 30 euros per month to 50 euros per month), without changing the price. So this means you will be able to enjoy faster fiber speeds and/or more gigabytes on your mobile phone for free.

All these improvements will be automatically applied to current customers. in the next billing cycle. New registrations and portability will have these benefits from the date of contract, starting next Thursday, when they appear on the operator’s website.

In some cases, as we will see below, the improvements applied will double the current conditions and once again position O2 as one of the most competitive brands on the market (5G+, unlimited landline, no persistence…):

  • Optical fiber 300 Mbit/s + mobile connection 10 GB for each 30 euros per month: Now includes 300Mbps fiber and 30GB mobile at the same price.
  • Optical fiber 300 Mbit/s + mobile connection 40 GB per person 35 euros per month: Now includes 600Mbps fiber and 50GB mobile at the same price.
  • Optical fiber 500 Mbit/s + mobile connection 60 GB per person 38 euros per month
: Now includes 1Gbps fiber and 120GB mobile at the same price.
  • Optical fiber 1 Gbit/s + mobile communication 100 GB for each 44 euros per month: Now includes 1Gbps fiber and 250GB mobile at the same price.
  • Optical fiber 1 Gbit/s + mobile connection 200 GB + Movistar Plus+ 50 euros per month: Now includes 1Gbps fiber, 350GB mobile and Movistar Plus+ at the same price.

Yes, we agree that the price of access to the O2 converged catalog remains at 30 euros per month and that it would be desirable to increase Movistar Plus+ tariffs to higher ones, but we cannot deny that all these improvements are a good coup for Telefónica. on the low cost table.

In addition, they include improvements in two discontinued tariffs which are no longer part of O2’s commercial offer, but with which many customers continue to sign contracts: on the one hand, the €42 per month tariff goes from 500 Mbps over fiber and 100 GB on mobile to 1 Gbps and 200 GB ; and on the other hand, the one for 45 euros per month costs between 200 and 350 GB on a mobile phone, with both maintaining the price.
