Movistar Plus+ channel launches high definition version

A channel that has abandoned standard quality in favor of high definition on Movistar Plus+ is Paramount Network. This channel. Located at number 36, it was already available in HD on digital terrestrial television, but has just become available on the Telefónica television platform.

It should be noted that this news did not surprise us, since we knew that Movistar was preparing this quality for several channels, including Paramount Network. We waited for several days dial 36 was activated in HD for platform subscribers and yesterday the day finally came.

According to information posted on our forum, several channels are switching to high definition on Movistar+ this year. They also release Energy HD

(dial 42), FDF HD (49), Divinity HD (95), Boeing HD (117), DMAX HD (89), THIRTEEN TV HD (37) and SX3-33 HD (119).

What is the Paramount Network?

Channel Paramount Network It is on DTT, so we could already enjoy its content in HD. But its programs can also be seen through the Movistar Plus+ platform. This site continued to stream in standard quality, and that definitely changed this week.

As stated on their own website, “Paramount Network is a premium entertainment destination that goes beyond storytelling.” Among television programs, it stands out for both feature series and popular science programs.

By dialing 36, we can watch movies from any genre we can think of. From drama, comedy, action, thriller, animation, horror and the most classic movies that never go out of style. Additionally, Paramount Network is ideal for movie lovers. Westerns

(Westerns), as there is a wide selection of titles on this topic.

Why did the DTT shutdown not affect Movistar Plus+?

The cessation of HD television on February 14 only hurt the channels as Digital terrestrial television. That is, private channels or calls viewed on platforms such as Movistar Plus+ or similar were not affected and could continue to be consumed in standard quality.

Thus, Movistar customers who used the operator’s television service with an old TV that was not HD compatible did not suffer any serious consequences. Although several Spanish families had to continue watching channels using HD decoders, Movistar Plus+ subscribers continued to use SD channels as before.

This is possible because Movistar does not receive channel signals directly from DTT. However, despite some watch faces still being in SD, the operator has demonstrated its commitment to HD quality and even Ultra High Definition (UHD). So, it’s only a matter of time before the platform abandons standard quality and finally goes HD.
