Dacia has just officially announced the Bigster. the company’s largest SUV to date. A car with off-road capabilities that has more space inside, different engine and hybridization options, and a price that, while still competitive, is a far cry from what the ‘old’ Dacia has historically offered.
These are all the features and performance of the Dacia Bigster, a car that represents the latest technology from the Renault group in terms of hybrid engines and demonstrates that SUVs can continue to be fuel-efficient.

The Dacia Bigster is the big brother of the Duster, making it the largest Dacia to date. His personality traits are clear: he remembers his younger brother very much. This is an SUV with a solid appearance, with a predominance of straight lines and fairly pronounced angles.
Its dimensions are 4.57 meters in length, 1.81 in width and 1.71 in height. 23 centimeters longer than Duster, almost nothing. The trunk is also growing, its volume is 667 liters. Ground clearance is 22 centimeters, which is more worthy of an all-terrain vehicle than a typical SUV. We are talking about a car larger than the Renault Austral or Nissan Qashqai, its two main competitors in the segment.
Despite such large dimensions, it is still a five-seater SUV. Dacia has prioritized a huge boot and rear seat space, so this car will be sold in a single five-seat configuration.
Its all-terrain character is emphasized by side protection for the underbody, wheel arches and bumpers. They are made from unpainted recycled material.
The interior is quite technologically advanced. It comes standard with a 10.1-inch screen on all versions, and the infotainment system varies depending on trim. Essential and Expression trims come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a seven-inch instrument panel.
If you move to the Extreme and Journey trim levels, the digital panel increases to 10 inches and the Media Nav Live multimedia system is added. This adds map navigation, updated for eight years, and a six-speaker audio system.
The Dacia Bigster is the first car from the Renault group to debut the Hybrid 155 engine. This is a similar design to that used in the Renault E-Tech hybrids, but with differences in the petrol engine. Thus we find versions that receive the ECO label from DGT, light hybrid versions and an electric hybrid.

In particular, this Bigster has a hybrid unit consisting of a four-cylinder petrol engine producing 107 hp. and two electric motors. One of them has a power of 50 hp, the second is a high voltage generator. It is accompanied by a 1.4 kWh (230 V) battery, with four speeds for the thermoblock and two more for the electric block.
Below we see the MHEV engines, a slightly smaller power unit and a six-speed manual transmission. Here we are talking about the three-cylinder Renault Tce engine, which we have already seen in other models of the group, with a power of 130 and 140 hp. To achieve the ECO label, they have a 48V battery that assists the heat engine during the starting and acceleration stages.
The Dacia Bigster will arrive on the Spanish market with prices starting from 25,000 euros for the less powerful version and around 30,000 euros for the hybrid model. There is no exact date of arrival to dealers.
