Nobody Likes Me – Bella Poarch and 6arelyhuman (review)

Bella Poarch has collaborated with 6arelyhuman to release a new track called “Don’t Like Anybody.” Both artists have really interesting paths that, if you explained it to a musician 30 years ago, would seem contrived. But they are both prestigious within their specific genres and directions. Bella Poarch used to be just a huge TikTok star, but what she’s amassed on streaming services also gives her a lot of license to be a music artist in the public’s eyes.

“Don’t Like Anybody” is one of the catchiest tracks I’ve heard in a while. Both artists bring their unique vocal talents to the mix. This is a very simple but good track where everything except the vocals works to support the vocals. In some tracks, people can listen for a deeper meaning or a place to dive into their thoughts. This track is more like what you just put on and it brightens up your day a little, nothing more, nothing less. Although sometimes this is exactly what you need. The theme of this song is a love saga about two partygoers who are infatuated with each other and start declaring, “I really like you, I don’t like anyone.” This is a funny phrase that can be interpreted in different ways. This can be seen as a gesture of devotion or as a promise and breaking it in the same sentence because “how can you like me, you don’t like anyone?” Most texts are simple anyway, and learning to do something simple can be as difficult as writing something very complex.

Chances are, unless you’re part of this generation of 14-25 year olds, you may not have heard of any of the artists in question. So I’ll give you some information. Bella Poarch is a Filipino-American social media star who initially gained fame through TikTok, where she created intriguing content. She gained widespread fame through her TikTok content where she lip-synced and danced. If you remember the TikTok video “M to the B,” then you probably remember Bella Poarch. 6arelyhuman is an artist who has recently gained fame mainly through his social media posts. The first wave that 6arelyhuman seemed to pick up on was the edits they made to old Japanese animated music videos (AMVs) on YouTube and possibly TikTok. I don’t know if I’m losing you here, but both of these artists touch on their parts of internet culture very well. Although Bella Poarch is much more mainstream.

Looking at the first videos released by 6arelyhuman, it seems like what everyone was trying to do on YouTube in 2007-2012, but no one had the necessary resources. Now anyone can make high-quality things at home if they put in enough effort, and it’s easier than ever to hire people who are good at something you’re not. Amazing music production software, video editing software, and more make it much easier for artists to express their vision without the need to use, say, a major record label for guidance. That’s a whole topic for another day, but to sum it up, I’m thrilled to see collaborations between these unique artists doing their thing. You should go check it out and see what you think!
