Oviedo, October 23 (EFE). Scientists awarded the 2024 Princess of Asturias Prize for Scientific and Technical Research for advances that have led to the development of anti-diabetes and obesity drugs such as Ozempic believe new frontiers are now being opened so that their discoveries could help treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Scientists Daniel J. Drucker, Jeffrey M. Friedman and chemists Jens Juul Holst and Svetlana Moisov, four world leaders in the field of endocrinology, are in Oviedo to receive the Scientific and Technical Research Award on Friday, an award that was awarded jointly with Joel F Habener – for his contributions to the development of drugs against obesity and diabetes that “improve the quality of life of hundreds of millions of people around the world.” TOTAL FOR SCIENTISTS DANIEL J.
