Phoebe Waller-Bridge is back

Four years after the end of the successful second season of ‘Fleabag’, Amazon Prime Video gives the green light to two projects by the multifaceted actress and screenwriter: ‘Sign Here’ and ‘Tomb Raider’

fans of fleabagwe are in luck! It is confirmed that two new projects of Phoebe Waller-Bridge are underway.
Four years after the end of the iconic fleabagWaller-Bridge has renovated the agreement who signed in 2019 with Amazon Prime Video. Although the creator’s busy schedule prevented her from having the time to get down to business with another series in 2019, patience has paid off.
A black humor series about a guy who works in Hell
As part of the pact, Waller-Bridge has partnered with the author claudia lux to adapt your book Sign Here Like an Amazon series. Apparently, this new agreement is for another three years – the same as the first.
About Sign Herethe project is described as: “An absolutely gripping, darkly humorous debut novel about a guy who works in hell (literally). The guy in question? Peyote Trip, a man who has a very good job in the business department on the fifth floor of Hell. And yes, none of the pens may paint, the coffee machine hasn’t worked for a century, and the only drink on offer is Jägermeister, but it’s still Hell and, after waiting a millennium, he comes up with a plan that could change your life (and his death) forever.”
Lux will write the script and serve as co-executive producer. from the series. And Waller-Bridge, along with Wells Street Films’ Jenny Robins, will executive produce.

Who will be the new Lara Croft?
The other good news? This is (supposedly) one of the multiple projects that the creator of killing eve has in hand for Amazon. But it is, hold on. The second confirmed series in development is nothing more and nothing less than the adaptation of tomb Raiderwhere Waller-Bridge would serve as a writer and executive producer.
The franchise tomb Raider started on 1994 with the action video game for PlayStation from the British studio Core Design. The series stars Lara Croft, an athletic and intelligent British archaeologist who travels the world in search of rare artifacts. The original game sold more than seven million copiesbecoming one of the best selling games on PlayStationand subsequent titles have collectively sold more than 95 million copies worldwide.
As the ‘Tomb Raider’ movies received mixed reviews, curiosity to see what path the Waller Bridge adaptation might take is even greater.
In addition, Croft’s character has already been made into a movie twice. In 2001 and 2003, Paramount Pictures released Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its sequel the cradle of lifestarring Angelina Jolie. And Warner Bros. released in 2018 a reboot based on the trilogy with Alice Vikander in the title role. Taking into account that both films received mixed reviews from the public and critics, the curiosity to see what path this new video game adaptation could take is even greater.
In recent years, Waller-Bridge hasn’t stopped: she’s co-written the latest James Bond film, No Time to Die; will act alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5and even voiced L3-37 in Only. For a time, his most famous project was the adaptation to series of Mr and Mrs smithwith the very donald glover (colleague and co-star in Only), but Waller-Bridge ended up leaving the project (amicably, let’s not be alarmed) in September 2021 due to creative differences.
Although we don’t have much more information about these projects, we are sure that Waller-Bridge’s versatile writing will surprise us for good.
