Antonio Mesa was working on the land 40 years ago when he found the bones of a dead man. He said nothing about it until 2018, when he learned that archaeologist Felipe Mejias had come to his city and asked about the Albatera concentration camp. Since then, Mejías has led four archaeological campaigns in the city of San Isidro (Alicante), during which he “asks the earth what happened to it.” Finding these bones, as well as the objects, is a scientific way to document the horror that up to 15,000 people have endured here since April 1939.
In this episode, we learn how from Mejías and his team, consisting of Aroa Miralles Díez, Eloy Poveda Hernández, Alejandro Guzmán Villegas, Victor Martínez Rubio and José Ramón Ortega Pérez, the terrain confirmed the brutal story told by journalist Eduardo de Guzmán de him. go through this place.
To realize this episode, we also consulted Eduardo de Guzman (grandson), the Anselmo Lorenzo Foundation and the research of Alfredo González Ruibal, among others.
