Porsche is now accepting orders for the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, which has just been unveiled with a hybrid powertrain featuring a newly developed 3.6-litre flat-six engine, electric turbocharger and electric turbocharger, priced from €149,302.
The 911 features updated design, more efficient aerodynamics, an upgraded interior, superior standard equipment and enhanced connectivity, the brand explains.
In particular, the “light and powerful” T-Hybrid system features a newly developed electric exhaust turbocharger. An integrated electric motor located between the compressor and turbine instantly accelerates the turbocharger.
The 3.6-liter boxer engine produces 485 hp. (357 kW) and torque 570 Nm. The total system power is 541 hp. (398 kW), and torque – 610 Nm. The increase in power compared to its predecessor is 61 hp. (45 kW).
The German company has streamlined the 911’s exterior design with a number of modifications that improve aerodynamics and performance. Changes include new bumpers specific to each version. For the first time, all lighting functions have been integrated into the 911’s matrix LED headlights, which are now fitted as standard.
These elements direct the air flow as needed: when power consumption is minimal, the closed fins optimize aerodynamics.
As an option, Porsche offers HD Matrix LED headlights with more than 32,000 light points. The high-performance high beam reaches a distance of more than 600 meters.
Porsche has designed the new 911’s cabin as a two-seater as standard, although an optional 2+2 configuration can be selected at no cost, he adds. The Driver Experience concept is driver-focused and offers more flexible and intuitive operation. In this system, the main controls are located directly on or around the steering wheel.
These include a drive mode switch, a redesigned driver-assist switch and, for the first time in a 911, an engine start button to the left of the steering wheel, he explains.
Another new feature is the digital instrument cluster. The curved 12.6-inch screen is integrated into the new operating and display concept and is highly customisable. Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is still controlled via the high-resolution 10.9-inch central display.
The updated 911 also features new QR code connectivity, which simplifies the process of logging into the PCM using Porsche ID.
Likewise, Apple CarPlay is better integrated into the car, allowing you to display information in the dashboard and control car features directly within the Apple ecosystem, such as through the Siri voice assistant.
Streaming video is also available while the car is parked, and apps like Spotify and Apple Music can be used without a phone connected.
The 911 Carrera is available as a Coupé and Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive. The 911 Carrera GTS is also available with all-wheel drive and a Targa body style. The PDK transmission is standard on all models.
