Porsche is opening orders for the new 911 Carrera GTS hybrid starting at €149,302.

Porsche has announced that orders are now being accepted for the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS plug-in hybrid with a newly developed 3.6-litre flat-six engine, electric turbocharger and electric drive, priced from €149,302.

The Volkswagen Group brand notes that the new 911 Carrera GTS Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312 km/h.

The 911 Carrera GTS is powered by a modified 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged boxer engine that is also more powerful than its predecessor. The new 911 features updated design, more efficient aerodynamics, a redesigned interior, superior standard equipment and enhanced connectivity, the brand explains.

In particular, the “light and powerful” T-Hybrid system features a newly developed electric exhaust turbocharger. An integrated electric motor located between the compressor and turbine instantly accelerates the turbocharger.

This immediately increases the boost pressure. This exhaust turbocharger electric motor also acts as a generator and produces up to 15 hp. (11 kW) electrical energy.

The 3.6-liter boxer engine produces 485 hp. (357 kW) and torque 570 Nm. The total system power is 541 hp. (398 kW), and torque – 610 Nm. The increase in power compared to its predecessor is 61 hp. (45 kW).

OPTIMIZED SUSPENSION AND SPORTY EXTERIOR
Porsche notes that the 911 Carrera GTS’s suspension has also been redesigned and rear-axle steering is standard for the first time. This improves stability at high speeds and reduces the turning radius.

Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is integrated into the high-voltage circuit of the high-performance hybrid system.

On the other hand, Porsche streamlined the 911’s exterior design with a number of modifications that improved aerodynamics and performance.

Changes include new bumpers specific to each version. For the first time, all lighting functions have been integrated into the now standard 911 matrix LED headlights with four-dot graphics.

On the 911 Carrera GTS versions, the front end is equipped with five active cooling air vents, arranged vertically and visible from the outside, as well as a further hidden vent on each side.

These elements direct the airflow as needed: when power consumption is minimal, the closed fins optimize aerodynamics.

As an option, Porsche offers new HD Matrix LED headlights with more than 32,000 light points. The high-performance high beam reaches a distance of more than 600 meters.

FULL DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION
Finally, Porsche has designed the new 911’s cabin as a two-seater as standard, although an optional 2+2 configuration can be selected at no extra charge, he adds.

The Porsche Driver Experience interior concept is driver-oriented and offers more agile and intuitive operation. In this system, the main controls are located directly on or around the steering wheel.

These include a drive mode switch, a redesigned driver-assist switch and, for the first time in a 911, an engine start button to the left of the steering wheel, he explains.

Another new feature that Porsche highlights in the 911 is the fully digital instrument panel. The 12.6″ curved screen is integrated into a new control and display concept and supports a high degree of customization.

Porsche Communication Management (PCM) continues to be controlled via the high-resolution 10.9-inch central display.

However, both the setting of driving modes and the operation of driver assistance systems have been improved.

The updated 911 also features new QR code connectivity, which simplifies the process of logging into the PCM using Porsche ID.

Likewise, Apple CarPlay is better integrated into the car and allows you to display information in the dashboard and control car functions directly within the Apple ecosystem, for example through the Siri voice assistant.

Also available for the first time is video streaming (optional) while the car is parked; Finally, apps like Spotify and Apple Music can be used as native apps on PCM without connecting your phone.

The new 911 Carrera is available as a coupe or convertible with rear-wheel drive. The 911 Carrera GTS is also available with all-wheel drive and a Targa body style. A PDK transmission is standard on all models.

The German brand indicates that deliveries will begin in late summer for the 911 Carrera and at the end of 2024 for the 911 Carrera GTS.
