RFER and ANCR sign declaration of intent to transfer DH leagues in the future – Royal Spanish Rugby Federation – FERugby

The president Spanish Rugby Federation (FER), Juan Carlos Martin Hansenand secretary National Association of Rugby Clubs (ANKR), Michael Martinezhave taken a further step towards mutual understanding between both organizations by signing a manifesto as a declaration of intent through which the necessary agreements are visualized to achieve the establishment of a professional rugby league, and the intention to transfer powers of the same from the Federation to the Clubs in the future.

Among the provisions signed by both presidents, RFER and ANCR reaffirm their I wish that the highest categories, the Honor Division and the Iberdrola Rugby League, could be organized in the future by the National Association of Rugby Clubs.

In addition, both parties wish to conclude, as soon as possible, an agreement governing aspects of the organization of both ANCR competitions.

The parties also agreed to create permanent and active channels of communication and cooperation to promote all matters of common interest.

As for the practical part, Working groups with different areas of activity will be created.such as the Strategic Plan on which will depend moving forward with the changes and improvements that the Leagues must face for their professionalization and subsequent organization by the ANCR, Sports, Communications and Legal Services to address the challenges associated with the creation of the ultimate goal of the League devolution of powers of the Leagues in future.

Within this framework supervisory commissionwhich ensures professionalism, the legality of contracts, control of the Clubs’ budget and other issues.

Finally, they expressed their desire to create a cooperation agreement between both parties that governs the Honor Division competitions for the 2024–2025 season.and they will work to make it possible.
