Banco Sabadell yesterday rejected BBVA’s offer after a week of deliberation over its terms. This morning the company published a video in which it explains this decision to its employees: “Banco Sabadell today is a strong company with a future, it is a great company,” says Josep Oliu. “Together we will make Sabadell bigger, more powerful and more profitable in the future,” says CEO Cesar Gonzalez-Bueno.
In a message that begins Josep Oliu, The bank’s president, and chief advocate for Sabadell’s ability to continue on his own, notes that “on the board of directors, we have great confidence in the bank’s progress and in the plans that are being implemented across all of its divisions and regions.” It is worth recalling that late yesterday the structure announced that its management rejected BBVA’s proposal, considering that it “significantly underestimates the Banco Sabadell project and its growth prospects.”
