Samsung Electronics continues to be the leader in the global television market for 18 years in a row – Samsung Newsroom Russia

Samsung Electronics has once again demonstrated its hegemony in the global television market, marking an unprecedented 18-year leadership streak in the sector.

Market research company Omdia announced that Samsung will achieve 30.1% global TV market share by 2023, consolidating its status as an industry leader since 2006. thanks to the latest generation Neo QLED and OLED models.

Since its launch in 2017, Samsung’s line of QLED TVs, including the latest Neo QLED models, have surpassed cumulative sales of 40 million units. In 2023 alone, sales of the QLED line reached 8.31 million units.

Samsung has reaffirmed its significant leadership in the high-end TV sector, especially in the segment of TVs with a diagonal size of more than 75 inches and priced above 0.5 inches. The company recorded an impressive 60.5% market share in sales of TVs priced above US$2,500, while maintaining its leadership with a 33.9% share of sales of TVs over 75 inches. In addition, thanks to strong sales of 98-inch models, TVs with a diagonal of more than 90 inches maintained their leadership with a market share of 30.4%.

Building on its success in the ultra-large high-end TV market, Samsung has also made significant strides in the OLED sector. The company’s OLED TVs sold 1.01 million units in 2023, with a market share of 22.7%. With the expansion of its OLED lineup in 2024, Samsung’s market share in the OLED sector is expected to increase.

At CES 2024, Samsung Electronics introduced the innovative NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, marking the beginning of era of screens with artificial intelligence. Advances in next-generation chipsets and capabilities will redefine the smart TV space by integrating sophisticated artificial intelligence with the Tizen operating system, making AI-enabled displays the center of smart home innovation.

2024 is being billed as another year of major innovation for Samsung. With advances in advanced processors and artificial intelligence capabilities, Samsung is on track to further transform home entertainment and set new standards in the TV industry.
