The Ministry of Health’s immunization campaign against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) has been recognized as the best healthcare project at the VII OAT Adherence Awards 2023 in the category of autonomous agencies.

The Director of the Galician Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Marta Piñeiro, received the award for a campaign that was 82% effective and prevented the hospitalization of 400 infants under 6 months.

AMBULANCES IN SUMMER

In Sanxenxo, a modern life support ambulance will serve the municipalities of Cambados, O Grove, Meanho, Meis, A Ilha de Arosa, Vilanova de Arosa, Vilagarcia de Arosa and Ribadumia 24 hours a day.

The equipment of this resource allows for the provision of medical care on site to particularly severe patients and assistance during transportation to the hospital.

In addition, Urxencias Sanitarias 061 has also launched a basic life support ambulance in Vilagarcia for its area of ​​influence since July 1.

CROSS-BORDER PROJECT
Likewise, the Ministry of Health also announced this Friday the presentation of the Transfiresaúde project, coordinated by the Galician Health Agency Coñecemento and aimed at strengthening the health research and innovation ecosystem in the Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion.

The goal of this initiative is to achieve innovative solutions, mainly in the field of artificial intelligence, to solve problems related to active and healthy aging and personalized medicine in primary health care.
