An Italian sports car collector commissioned the design of this model, which was created according to a program by the German company Sonderwunsch and has special colors and technical characteristics. This will be the last car in this family after 2,500 units are produced.
Closing cycles or stages is usually a recurring mantra in the world of the automotive industry, as it opens the door to speculation: either because another model will be produced, or because space needs to be left in a vast portfolio, or because what has been given . And it seems that with the Porsche 911 Dakar what was happening is over.
Before saying goodbye, the German company is going to release a special version of the Sonderwunsch program with an unusual design. This is an order from an Italian sports car collector who wants a model that is exceptional in every sense. And for this Used Nueveeleven Dakar, which premiered in November 2022.
This new interpretation will therefore have a standard ground clearance that is approximately 50 millimeters higher than that of the 911 Carrera with sports suspension. Special off-road details include red forged aluminum front and rear tow lugs, as well as flared fenders and running boards.
Six-cylinder three-liter biturbo engine producing 480 hp. (353 kW) and maximum torque of 570 Nm.delivers impressive performance with the distinctive and passionate boxer sound that fans of the boxer car are familiar with.
Currently on display at the Porsche Museum is a limited edition model that has received the full Sonderwunsch treatment, including an exclusive three-tone paint job. Signal yellow and metallic blue gentian They are ideally combined with the Rallye design package, which recalls the appearance of the car that won the 1984 Paris-Dakar.
A blue line drawn between the two large colored areas completes the set. This latest tone, named “Lampedusa Blue” after the Italian Mediterranean island, was created in collaboration between the Stuttgart marque’s designers and the car’s new owner, as was the trim (completely done by hand).
The alloy wheels on this unique example are also finished in Signal Yellow and the rims are finished in Lampedusa Blue. The Matrix LED headlights are highlighted by a blue Lampedusa ring. The stainless steel guards at the front and rear, as well as the running boards, are black.
Yellow, in contrast to black, is replete with the interior. For example, on the seams and trim strips of the dashboard, center console and door panels. The “911 Dakar” lettering is embroidered in yellow Speed thread on the headrests of the Plus sports seats.
The gear selector of the eight-speed PDK transmission is complemented by a leather insert in Speed Yellow.. When you open the doors, LEDs project the Sonderwunsch logo onto the floor. Thanks to extensive customization, this 911 Dakar has been brought to perfection in the special orders section.
Before it reaches its new home, visitors to the Porsche Museum will be able to see it at the entrance, displayed alongside other unique models from famous limited editions. But, fortunately for the Italian collector or unfortunately for the millionaires of the planet, it has already been sold and It will be the last after production of 2,500 units.
