Sevali, the Chilean designer who has dressed Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner surprises with an unprecedented collection at Lollapalooza 2023

Upcycling and haute couture go hand in hand, and that is what the young Chilean designer Sebastián Albornoz, better known as Sevali, invites you to discover with his innovative designs.
From Paris he arrives in Santiago, and in lollapalooza 2023 will present an unprecedented collection of Upcycling with Levi’s Chilea collaborative work that covers 13 looks and recalls the importance of sustainability.
The garments are part of the celebration of the 150 years of jeans 501 and they will be presented to the public at the festival, on March 17, 18 and 19, at the brand’s stand. Furthermore, in the Cerrillos Bicentennial Park parades will be held every day at 5:00 p.m.
Sevali’s clothing stands out for being deconstructed and urban, made through existing garments that the same designer is putting together as he puts together his collections. For these new designs he chose Levi’s jackets and trousers, which together with a group of 9 seamstresses from undertake cut to create novel garments.
Sevali began with the sketches in Europe, but before the official presentation, she held a workshop, from March 9 to 14, in which Chilean dressmakers participated, who made the garments for the new collection and learned great sewing techniques that will be Use in your personal projects. “Not only did they learn from me, but I also took incredible lessons with me. We make a collection together, so I cannot say that it is a personal project, but that it is the work of all”adds the designer Sebastián Albornoz.
It is the first time that the artist is creatively involved in a project in Chile. He decided to work with Levi’s Chile because the brand has an aesthetic very similar to his: both respect traditions, are interested in rethinking processes, and seek to innovate without losing the essence that represents them.
“Personally, I select projects that are rewarding for me and that are close to my personal line. And this time I was able to do what I love the most, which is upcycling, as well as help the environment with my actions”comments Sebastián Albornoz.
“We are proud to be part of an initiative as beautiful as this one that teaches us the importance of recycling and being creative with the garments that already exist”comment Magdalena CalderonMarketing Lead , Andes Cluster of Levi Strauss & Co.
