I was almost born with an NES under my arm, and since then gaming has become a passion that has brought me here to 3DJuegos, where I have been writing for over 10 years and also serve as Editor-in-Chief. With over 20 years of video game journalism experience, I’ve been a big Nintendo fan since childhood, but owning a PC in the late 90s also allowed me to enjoy graphic adventures like Monkey Island, strategy games like Age of Empires or RPGs. like Baldurs Gate. Movie fan, mega-Star Wars fan, and aspiring pianist, if you talk to me about Grim Fandango, I’ll buy you a beer. LinkedIn

The last episode has ended Summer Games Festivalit’s time to round up the most important announcements from this video game event, which has once again caused divisions of opinion due to the lack of big hits to justify two hours long gala concert 120 minutes during which games and trailers kept coming, sometimes with surprises, but with too many already known (and reviewed) games that were seen to bring absolutely nothing to the table.

So the general feeling was disappointing, though Summer Game Fest 2024 started off strong with the announcement of Lego Horizon, a game that’s been around for a while but we’re only now seeing it in action. This was followed by other interesting announcements such as No More Room in Hell 2, release date trailer Dragon Ball sparkles! ZEROor the first trailer Civilization 7.

Another year of excess announcements and time played against Summer Game Fest

Since then, SGF has been losing steam due to advertisements that are not very relevant or are so short that they do not provide anything valuable to the viewers. There were so many of them that at times it was difficult to remember a “great ad” among so many advertising spots and poor presentations. Meanwhile, important announcements were made, such as the DLC for Alan Wake 2 and its physical edition, Valorant on consoles or the return of New World with an improved version that will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.

In short, another year of excess announcements and time played against the Summer Game Fest. Either way, stay tuned for the biggest announcements because there are a few games worth keeping an eye on.
