The council approved the distribution €4.7 million to support biomedical research and drug discovery. through the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Research Centre of the Prince Felipe Foundation of the Valencian Community (FCIPF).
Thus, in order to support the scientific work of this interdisciplinary centre and to use the most advanced technologies, the Government of Valencia authorises this agreement, which will facilitate development of various research programs foundation.
Currently, FCIPHF is strengthening its scientific activities, thanks to which it has achieved an increase in the impact index of its publications and the number of research groups through which it promotes and develops interdisciplinary and translational research, paying special attention to the search for new therapeutic targets, innovative drugs, advanced treatment methods and diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers of response.
Some areas of research are rare diseases, metabolic or endocrine diseases, oncology, neurology, neurobiology, cellular pathophysiology, tissue and neuronal regeneration, genomics or molecular biology.
