The government and the PP questioned Maduro’s victory and called for the results to be verified

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albarez, demands “full transparency in the process”, while the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Fijóo, demands an audit of the process

Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albereshas called for “total transparency” and the verifiable publication of “table by table” minutes of the Venezuelan elections, after the National Electoral Council (CNE), the Chavismo-controlled Venezuelan elections authority, issued a presidential victory. Nicolás Maduro With 51% votes.

“What we want is total transparency in the process. And what we want and what we need is to publish the minute details, table by table, so that those results can be verified,” the head of Spanish diplomacy said in an interview in Cadena Ser, collected by Europa PressIn which he indicated that the Spanish government would rule on the outcome of the election once these conditions were met.

Alberes said it was “crucial” that the Venezuelan election authority publish “table-by-table data” so that organizations like the United Nations or the Carter Center could “authenticate and verify that data” as they observe the work on election day.

“The information that has been made known is global data, and so we hope that everyone will have access in a transparent way and feel comfortable with the results that are being given, and for that I believe that transparency is the best thing at all times,” he continued his explanation.

In the meantime, he shared his wish that “more complete, more detailed, more verified information” be presented throughout the day “and with the same serenity, calm and democratic spirit” with which Venezuelans came to vote yesterday “in total freedom.”

PP demands audit of process

Leader popular, Alberto Nunez Feijoo, It sees “established reasons” to think that the electoral result announced by the Nicolás Maduro regime “does not respond to what the Venezuelan people voted for.”

This is what he assured in a message he published X, The National Electoral Council (CNE) has declared incumbent President Nicolas Maduro the winner of the Venezuelan election with 51.20% of the vote, while rival Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia got 44.2%.

“Venezuelans voted yesterday in large numbers, peacefully, in favor of a transition to freedom. There are strong reasons to think that the result announced by the regime does not respond to what the people voted for,” the popular leader wrote.

Other PP leaders have said similar things, e.g. Esteban González Ponceon the same social network, where he stressed: “From Chile to the US, passing through Brazil, nobody believes that the result that Maduro announced is true.” and deputy spokesman for the PP in Congress, Cayetana Alvarez de Toledoalso referred to the announced electoral result in Venezuela: “Having stolen everything else, Maduro and his henchmen intend to steal the elections too.”
