The Nintendo Switch 2 continues to be the subject of various controversial rumors and leaks. A few months ago, Japanese media reported that the console was due to arrive in March 2025, and now a new rumor contradicts this information and says that there is still a possibility that it will arrive in late 2024.
It speaks of possibility, so it is not something that can be considered certain. There are rumors that Nintendo is releasing a version with an OLED panel, but it is not specified whether it will arrive at the same time as the LED version or later. Releasing the Nintendo Switch 2 OLED and LED at the same time could be beneficial for Nintendo as both versions will be on the market from the start and will be able to reach more users.
Both versions will be identical in design and technical specifications, only the screen will change in both versions. The Nintendo Switch 2 will use NVIDIA’s custom Tegra SoC, which could be equipped with an 8-core CPU (ARM) and an Ampere GPU with shader counts ranging from 1024 to 1536. Some sources suggest that it will have 1280 shaders and its operating frequency will be low due to consumption and temperature problems.
Its remaining characteristics will be in the range from 8 to 12 GB of unified memory, although there are sources that talk about 16 GB of memory. It will have an SSD on which games can be installed and will be compatible with NVIDIA DLSS 2, an intelligent upscaling technology that will allow developers to improve performance while maintaining higher image quality.
According to sources like Digital Foundry, it may not be as powerful as a Steam Deck, but DLSS 2 and other technologies will help it achieve more and offer a superior gaming experience.
