“It is not true that avocados contain cholesterol. But Basulto goes further. “There are a number of misconceptions in the world of nutrition. One is that cholesterol is found in any food that contains fat, regardless of its origin. This is not true: we will not find cholesterol in plant foods, even if they are high in fat (like nuts or avocados), but we will find it in animal foods such as meat, dairy, fish, seafood, and, of course, eggs.”
