This isn’t the first and probably won’t be the last time we’ve looked at Bloober Team’s work on Silent Hill 2 Remake. Strange. We all come from different places when we remember the classics. Quiet team. I think it’s important to remember this. But it is also true that we all find ourselves at the end of the road, when the secrets are revealed and we realize with certainty, what a soul of this great sequel. That secret, which with the release of the remake once again becomes spoiler material, in my opinion, is the problem.
All of us fans have been amazed by how this game can be so deep for over twenty years. so symbolic, as few works do even today. In a manner, Silent Hill 2 is our Twin Peaks. This is science fiction ahead of its time, gradually understood, in which every line, every scene and every design decision has a reason hidden beneath the surface. That’s why I said we are all at the end of the road. Because when you talk to someone who knows what you know, there is complicity. And the problem with Silent Hill 2 Remake is that sometimes, and in the most important ways, sometimes You look into Blueber’s eyes and wonder if we were playing the same game.
I sincerely believe that the Polish study You’ve done something difficult and are stumbling over something that should be easy. Yes, Silent Hill 2 Remake may not be the most attractive game we’ve played lately, but I think it would be more than acceptable if the spirit of Silent Hill 2 could be easily understood by every fan. And, judging by Based on all the material presented so far, it appears that this is not the case at all. When the game is paused and the story, dialogue, and interaction between characters begins, a terrible suspicion arises. Something very strange to even say out loud. This Blobber didn’t understand the original.
You notice it in small details first. For example, the interaction we saw with Laurathat little girl we know standing on the wall has no such charm. His videos seem rushed. His weird dialogue from the original is attempted here. To use that synonym again, it’s like trying to take David Lynch out of Twin Peaks so he can be better understood. Loses all grace. Silent Hill 2 visually and narratively constantly plays with the strange, with what creates real fear. Something that may not seem to make sense at first, but whose symbolism makes sense when you play it back and reflect on it. And perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening with Bluber: before this symbolism prefers things simple and understandable, is dedicated to the player who is going to play once and move on to something else.

A short pink skirt with leopard print and a jacket that shows off her body and figure. And all this together with intense makeup. All this creates a forced stereotype. Changing his appearance, even a little, as we see in the remake, is not understanding half of what this character means or the rules of the town of Silent Hill itself in this second part.There is no discussion. This is not a design decision. One cannot even excuse the use of “The Quiet Team” Sexy outfit of Christina Aguilera from the early 2000s or that the inspiration was a pencil sketch by Sato. Maria’s appearance must convey the impression conveyed by the original game, or the meaning of his character is lost. It’s strange to explain this, because any fan understands this perfectly well, which raises a question to which I don’t know the answer. What’s worse: Bloober doesn’t understand what Silent Hill 2 is, or he knows it, but prefers to change it? kinds of things due to marketing decisions or other reasons?
The only thing that’s certain is that, for good reason, we fans aren’t taking it well. I know it’s easy to criticize Konami these days, and that it would likely be very difficult for any studio faced with the difficult task of making this remake to avoid criticism. I can even understand it some game aspects turn into action in a complex system like the current one, in which every big-budget job is forced to choose to go overboard at the risk of not selling. But it becomes truly surprising that with each new material in the game we see several signs of inattention, a lack of understanding of the meaning of this work… or even worse: understanding it and, nevertheless, look away. One thing is for sure: Bluber is now walking around in his own fog and his beliefs. Just like James Sunderland.
