Third attempt by CSD to impose sanctions against Rocha

YesThe Women’s Champions League final approaches on Saturday in San Mamés and the Supreme Sports Council convenes its Board of Directors for next Friday, without appearing as such on any of the agenda items. The preventive suspension of Pedro Rocha will be discussed. The goal is nothing less than that the President of the Federation is not present in the penalty area of the final that will meet Barcelona and Lyon, and that Vicente del Bosque is the President of the Commission created by the CSD to protect the Federation and which has not been seen or heard in the City of Football 23 days after its creation. No news from the Commission.

This will be the third time the same issue is discussed because CSD doesn’t want Pedro Rocha to represent Spanish football, which he already did last week at the FIFA Congress, holding various meetings with all UEFA federations under the leadership of Aleksandar Čeferin. The world of football accepted Rocha in the best possible way, the best example of this was the World Cup. The basis for this is Rocha’s indictment in the Brodie case and six complaints against the main TAD leader. The sanction will mean a step back and that the football world will again look skeptically at what is happening in Spain.

In two previous cases, various reasons forced the commission meeting to postpone a decision on possible sanctions from the president of the federation. Some welcome the potential lawsuits that may appear below, while others welcome the State’s Attorney’s report and requests for additional documents from TAD.

File opened by TAD

The one that could be sanctioned involves decisions made by the board under Rocha’s chairmanship that the plaintiffs say they did not have the authority to do. In some of these decisions, the board still included Florentino Pérez and Joan Laporta, among others. Sanctions against Rocha would go hand in hand with sanctions against the rest of the management company, so it was the Federation that could somehow be paralyzed again.

A VAR decision and semi-automatic offside call, Luis de la Fuente’s unsigned extension, the withdrawal of the claim brought against La Liga under the CVC agreement, and the dismissal of several involved in the Brodie case are just a few of them. issues on which he is being sued. All decisions were justified by Rocha and his team, who, in the event of sanctions, will study possible claims that may be made.
