What is Mujaro?

Mujaro is the name of a medicine developed by American pharmaceutical company Lillybased on tirzepatide. This compound was originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, although, as with Ozempic and Wegovy, soon gained popularity as way to lose weight.

Like semaglutide (the active ingredient in the drugs Ozempic and Vegovi), tirzepatide is GLP-1 receptor agonist (glucagon-like peptide type 1). The difference is that this connection also interacts with GIP receptors (gastric inhibitory polypeptide or glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide).

Its mechanism of action, in addition to promoting glycemic control, reduces appetite, increases the feeling of satiety and excess fat is reducedincluding visceral fat around the waist.

Arrival in Spain

Mujaro will arrive in Spanish pharmacies on July 1st. and does so in a variety of dosage formats: 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 milligrams.
